Training the fish to learn blackhat. A subject of this post “blackhat fish” is to learn some techniques from seo, blackhat, domaining and design through Shouting Zone. Basically a learning curve in providing subject for defense against individual and organization exercising or damaging your clients site or your site.
Some of these techniques like link dropping, keyword stuffing, 301 redirect and other stuff can be done to either harm your site and give an advantage to your competitor. One of the purpose I believe being pass by Shouting Zone is to depend your sites against this technique and overcome this as you do you search engine optimization.
If you want to participate go to the community and participate to this blackhat fish experiment and test your skills by ranking high on the term for 18 days. Basically you can get some information on how to start to do SEO on my previous post.

Google dropped this blog on their Pagerank Algorithm from PR4 to PR0 on this recently Pagerank change. I am not worry of course on this PR change because this does not change my perception to create content for this blog. Pagerank is not the life of this blog but the content.
This blog been up for a year now and no advertising ads placed (hopefully will place soon to support this blog). I am just trying to find a theme that is ads ready that will best suit to this blog in preparation to the upcoming post on all about seo.
Basically a tutorial to all newbies like me willing to start on how to optimize a site for best search engine visibility. Check out this blog often for some tips in addition to the previous post already up.

Never had a chance to create some post in a while but browsing the net and other webmaster forums like Webmaster talk got my attention on the contest they are holding to celebrate the merging of two forums- The Webmaster Talk and EarnersForum.
They are giving away nice prizes like Macbook Air and other gadgets as well as cash enough to start your own venture in the internet. I myself cannot resist not to participate in this contest but not hoping to win any since there are lots of members participating and either good in writing skills, referring friends or create posts in the forum.
Basically the principle is to have the most points in a month duration to be eligible on the prize and the good thing is it is awarded to 5 individuals and not just one.

To enhance comments and participation on this blog, will be installing the top commentator plug-in on this blog. Hope this can bring an active community by sharing their thoughts on the subject especially SEO.
On my previous post about one of my site got into sandbox, it was actually a fault at my end where you can find the answer at this post.

One of my site that is participating in the seocontest2008 been into sandbox ( webmasters called it-if your site is not ranking even if how much you optimized it for google search though ranking on other search engine). The primary keyword is not even listed on the first 1K of results that at the first month have been into the first page on google.
So an experiment will be made into account to check and possibly be out of the so called google sandbox. As for the contest, I don’t anymore dream to win. Hope this experiment will have some positive reaction from the filter google had set.
If this succeeded, I will try to post what have been done get it back to ranking.

The previous post about joining contest can help you especially on SEO contest on harnessing your skills into it, like joining the Yicrosoft Directory challenge (ended) and SeoContest2008 (will end on april 1). But there are other things you can do like joining social networks and other internet or blog contest like what JimKarter is doing on his blog contest organized a few days back (ending tomorrow).
Blog promotion or site not just blog through this kind of promotion works at around 80% of the time. This enhances readers and interaction between visitors to your site or blog thus increasing the possibility of revenue and or sales to a product.
I see Jim’s figures of revenues throughout his sites is quite inspiring that even I have to subscribe to learn how he achieved that figures on a monthly base. Nice work Jim.

Specifically SEO contest that are running in the net. How can you learn by joining this kind of contest. There are reason why joining such can yield you to a positive outcome and enhancing your skills doing SEO.
First, you will learn from your competitor on how they achieve the ranking. From building links through link baiting. How they acquire links from other sites . Secondly, how their sites have been optimized on-page. The designs to meta and navigational internal links or its internal linking pattern as well as linking patterns off-page.
A motivation to try to outrank your competition yields to a positive learnings and acquiring methods of optimization. You will also see how search engine works and how often they update the ranking. You will also notice how datacenter results are switching one to the other.
The bad point is how they spam the net with useless post and promotional links.

Just received an email from a visitors searching local google search engine for the term SEO Blog and end up on my blog. Here is a copy of the email:
I noticed Seoremake is turning up in Gs’ “pages from Ireland” results which is
odd for a US hosted .com.

Just wondering if this a glitch or had you specified Ireland as a geographic location in
the new webmaster tool.
First, thanks stephen for visiting my blog. Second, answering your question with a question. Does google or specifically the google bots look into the Trace route of the site it is hosted?
So to explain, this site is hosted on an Ireland IP. Next, search engine don’t crawls any deeper than looking the IP address location of the site where it is hosted. If this will be the case today, then effective geo targeting can be achieved in ranking.
Next, how you site or blog have been optimized for search engine crawler visibility. How your content is relevant to the search.
Another thing to mention is that I have not employ this so called Pay For Inclusion, what for? If I can rank high on one term, why I cant do it on another? I will just waste my money into it.
Hope that I answer your question partially. Backlinks plays also a big role if you want to target a local industry.

Last post we discuss about checking our competition in different search engine results. And analyze its meta information of each site implementing it to our own site. Now we check in links and competition link analysis. Note that this is for newbie to understand what, how this is being done.
We point to the analysis of our competition. Sites having high rank on search result page with links pointing to them. Now we check those backlinks. How they have acquired a link from the site or page? We do the same if that is for free. Just letting you know that google is penalizing sites buying or selling links.
After we have acquired those links pointing to your competitor sites, we go to our own link building system. Create articles where you can submit to different article directories with link associated to your site. Have some press release.
Try to participate on forums where signature is allowed for free traffic but remind you don’t spam your link all over the forum. Comment on blogs that are relevant to your niche. Comment must be relevant to the topic otherwise flagging you as a spammer again.
Post an interesting article to your blog generating a link bait. Increasing activity to your blog such as comments and friend invites. Try to check if your article or news can be submitted to digg.com or other social bookmarking sites. Social bookmarking sites help you generate free traffic and link back as well.

SO did you get any improvement on our experiment on the keyword you are targeting or rather key phrase? If yes, then this will be start of our seo quest in finding search engine algorithm and how to rank in it. Please note that different search engines have different algorithm.
So here is what you need to do, on your key phrase or keyword you are targeting, search that keyword or key phrase on different search engines. Check the sites on the first 20 results on each engine. Look each site title, description and keywords. Compare the variation on the sites. This way you can know what needs to be change and what needs to be improve.
Implement some or combination of these keywords and description to your site. Check for improvement on your ranking. Be careful to over stuff keyword on your site, though you can rank in an instant but will not last. What we are doing is for a long term goal and ranking not just an overnight ranking spree.
Next discussion would be link building and competition analysis.
